SRAR First Time Homeownership Grants

The Southland Regional Association of REALTORS^® is proud to assist the First time low to moderate income homebuyer. The Southland Regional Association of REALTORS^® is awarding $4,000.00 grants to eligible applicants.

Note: A limited number of grants are available.

How do First Time Homebuyers apply for a chance at the grant?

• You must be a first time homebuyer
• Your combined family annual income must be less the $120,000
• You must attend the Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services (LANHS) class
• The home must be located in Santa Clarita Valley/San Fernando Valley
• Applicants REALTOR^® must be a FULL SRAR member

Does everyone that applies get the grant?

NO. As with all grant programs, this is an application process. All applications are reviewed and judged on their individual merit. The number of Grants awarded is limited to the funds available.

Should the applicant get enrolled in the LANHS class at the beginning of their house hunting?

YES. The purpose of this class is to educate the First Time and Low to Moderate income home buyer of the various loan and assistance programs that are available to them. No application will be accepted if the LANHS class is taken AFTER the close of escrow. Classes taken just prior to the close of escrow may be taken into consideration after all others are reviewed.

Is the applicant expected to qualify for any additional assistance programs?

YES. There are several First Time and Low to Moderate-Income assistance programs available. REALTORS^® should make every effort, in conjunction with the lender to see that all assistance programs available to their client are made available.
